Bert, William and Joseph Mamer all flew back to Juba in the MAF plane that Fran and the team had chartered up to Marial Bai. (The crowd and welcome noise you see and hear was a big party to honor Fran and team.) They had hoped to make a connecting flight to Nairobi. They didn't.
Bert's experience at the Jaja Inn, and Bishop Abraham's warnings about the lack of safety in Juba at night, had persuaded the travelers that they'd need to go to the Episcopal guest house for the night.
Juba has no taxi service so William took the initiative and started waving down motor cyclists driving by. He asked if they were willing to make a detour and take a passenger to the guest house for a fee. He found three motorcyclists who were willing! William and Joseph each had a suitcase to balance as well. Bert luckily only had his backpack, but even so, William cautioned Bert's driver to take it slowly for the 'kawaja' (white face). That's a photo op I missed.
